The American College of Radiology (ACR) has granted a three-year re-accreditation for mammography to the deNicola Breast Health Center at Southern New Hampshire Health.
Facilities performing mammography must be ACR accredited and FDA certified in accordance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act.
ACR accreditation ensures that a breast imaging facility is following all FDA requirements and providing the gold standard of care.
“ACR accreditation demonstrates our commitment to quality and excellence. Accreditation provides the accountability that our community expects of us,” Dr. Michael DeLeo, Board Certified Imaging Radiologist and Chief Medical Officer for Foundation Medical Partners at SNHH, said.
The deNicola Breast Health Center is also an ACR Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. That designation is given to facilities that are ACR accredited in all areas of breast imaging, mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI.
“We have an amazing team that takes pride in giving compassionate care to our patients as well as an outstanding Quality Assurance Program,” Elaine Lavallee, AART (R)(M), Manager of the deNicola Breast Health Center explains.
The deNicola Breast Health Center was first opened as an outpatient mammography screening center on Main Street in Nashua in September 1987. It has been ACR accredited since 1990, two years prior to it being mandated by the FDA.
Congratulations to the entire team, we are extremely proud of their work and this accomplishment!
