Nearly nine months ago, The Birth Place at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center began working on a “Moms Room,” a private place for employees who are expressing milk to pump at work. Today, it is open and ready for use!

It is my honor to announce that National Nurses Week is this week, through May 12th, which is the birth date of Florence Nightingale. Each year, Nurses Week provides us with the opportunity to remember the incredible impact our nurses have on our staff, our patients, and the community.

Tick bites can be a serious health hazard, particularly in New England where ticks are abundant and can bite any time the temperature is above freezing. These tiny arachnids often carry pathogens that can spread to humans and pets, causing serious conditions including Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, babesiosis, ehrlichiosis, Powassan virus, and rarely, Rocky Mountain spotted fever or other Rickettsial illnesses.
