We currently offer apprenticeship programs for:
The Medical Assistant Apprentice Program offers a unique opportunity to earn while you learn, combining full-time employment with career training. Medical assistants play a vital role in outpatient care, supporting physicians with both clinical and administrative tasks such as preparing patients for exams, assisting with procedures, managing lab work, scheduling, and more. Selected apprentices begin with 14 weeks of paid classroom instruction at Nashua Community College or Manchester Community College, followed by 3,600 hours of mentored, on-the-job training over two years. Participants also prepare for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national exam through the National Healthcare Association.
The Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) Apprenticeship Program at Southern NH Health offers a paid, “earn while you learn” path into a rewarding healthcare career. In partnership with ApprenticeshipNH and Manchester Community College, this program combines a 6-week training course with classroom and practicum experience, followed by 2,000 hours of on-the-job training in one of our inpatient units. Participants also prepare for the statewide LNA certification exam and are guaranteed full-time employment upon successful completion—making this an ideal entry point for those pursuing a future in healthcare.
The Surgical Technician Apprenticeship Program is a 16-week paid training opportunity designed to prepare individuals for a hands-on role in the operating room, assisting with sterile instrument preparation, surgical procedures, and case closure. In partnership with MedCerts, participants earn national certification through NCCT or NBSTSA. Apprentices receive an hourly wage while learning — with tuition, books, and essential supplies (like scrubs and a stethoscope) covered. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, working knowledge of English, full attendance during the program, and a two-year full-time employment commitment with the organization upon completion.
The Behavioral Health Apprenticeship Program at Southern New Hampshire Health offers a paid, one-year training opportunity for those interested in starting a career in inpatient behavioral health. Apprentices work alongside a multidisciplinary team to support adult patients with psychiatric disorders, learning to provide daily care, lead therapeutic activities, and maintain a safe, supportive environment. The program includes tuition support for coursework at Nashua Community College, on-the-job training in a 32-hour position with full benefits, and the opportunity to pursue further education. A two-year employment commitment follows program completion.
