Profile

Amanda Delaney, DPM, a board-certified podiatrist, earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City. She received her BA in psychology and pre-health studies from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York.

She completed her podiatric surgical residency at the HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley PMSR/RRA in Kingston, New York, where she served as the chief podiatric surgical resident in her final year of training.

“The thing I’ve always liked about podiatry is that it’s very diverse,” Dr. Delaney says. “You have a wide range of pathologies that can walk through the door on any given day. You’re seeing dermatological issues, biomechanical issues, and a wide range of patient populations, from children to older individuals, so you get a little bit of everything.”

Although she treats all types of foot and ankle issues, Dr. Delaney says she particularly is interested in addressing deformities “whether it’s something simple to things that are a little more complicated. I enjoy the challenge of figuring out what works best for patients.”

She spends much of her spare time doing DIY projects. “A lot of surgical skills carry over to carpentry,” she says. “I like building and designing things whenever I have the opportunity.”
