Profile
Dr. Derek Jurus, D.O., a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Penn State University Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Most recently Dr. Jurus was an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, and is looking forward to bringing his skill sets in management of high-risk pregnancies and minimally invasive GYN surgery (including use of robotics for same-day hysterectomy) to Foundation OB/GYN.
A strong patient advocate, he is passionate about collaborating with patients to manage their pregnancies, help with painful or heavy menstrual cycles, manage abnormal pap test results, and treat fibroids. He is also skilled in office-based hysteroscopy.
“It is always an honor to work with our team providing patients with the most current and effective compassionate care available to women. Helping patients to achieve their goals and to stay healthy is what our work is all about.”
Dr. Jurus loves to spend any free time hiking and biking with his family. Since 2018, he has been a dedicated runner and fund-raiser for the Dana Farber Marathon Challenge team.
