John Poremba, MD, earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Poremba completed his residency in medicine at Keesler Air Force Medical Center in Biloxi, MS, and his fellowship in endocrinology at Wilford Hall Air Force Medical Center in San Antonio, TX.
Dr. Poremba treats patients with diabetes, thyroid disease, pituitary disease and a host of other hormone related medical issues. He also conducts clinical research to investigate new medications for diabetics.
He says, “People with Type I diabetes are my heroes. This disease strikes people in the prime of their life – young kids, young adults – placing a burden on them that they have to live with every day. Yet they don’t just endure, they thrive.”
In his free time, Dr. Poremba cycles four to five times a week on treks of up to 50 miles, is a beekeeper with “80,000 really amazing pets,” loves to cook gourmet meals especially with his kids and has a Corgi with his own Instagram.
