Sarah Rooney, APRN, earned her Master of Science degree in Nursing at Rivier University in Nashua and her B.S. in nursing from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences.
She has spent her entire nursing career with Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. She worked as an RN in Cardiac Telemetry in Nashua for ten years before working as a nurse practitioner with the adult hospitalist program at Foundation Medical Partners.
“I think what I love most about what I do is developing relationships with patients,” Rooney says. “I love helping them live their best lives going forward and doing anything I can to make their lives easier.”
Rooney, who comes from a “long line of nurses” – including her mother and her aunt - knew early on she wanted to be in a career focused on helping others.
“I think what I like most about what I do is caring for people,” she says. “I’ve always been someone who likes to fix problems, make people comfortable or do anything I can to make someone’s life easier.”
Although she has appreciated working with the elderly, Rooney looks forward to seeing patients of all ages, especially children and adolescents.
“In the long run, a patient’s healthcare is their choice,” Rooney says. “My goal is to develop an open and honest collaborative relationship that takes into account their goals for their health and their life.”
In her downtime, Rooney particularly treasures spending time in the outdoors with her family, which includes two young children.
