I am pleased to honor and recognize our nurses across Southern New Hampshire Health by kicking off NationalNurses Week2022for our organization. National Nurses Week beginstomorrow,May 6thonNational Nurses Day and ends on May 12th, the birthday of Florence Nightingale. The theme for this year’s Nurses Weekis Rooted in Strength. The theme truly exemplifiesthe nursing teamsat Southern New Hampshire Health. If you work at SouthernNew Hampshire Health, you know that our Professional Practice Model isa schematic of a tree—a tree that is rooted in our core values, recognition, governance, relationships, and care delivery. Always at the center is our commitment to guiding our patients to their best healthand providing them with a meaningful and exceptional patient experience.

This year, National Nurses Week is an important time torecognize the steadfast commitment and incredible resilience that our nurses continue to demonstrate during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our nursesgivean immense amount oftime, energy, andtheyeven sacrificetheir own wellbeing at times, tohelpour patients. There is no doubt that our patients, their families, and entire communities, are forever changed because of their efforts.

This year was very special for us also because we achieved our fourth Magnet re-designation. Magnet is the highest recognition for nursing excellence, and it is atrue testimony to the strength of our caregiversand the excellence of the care that we provide. Teamwork is theunderpinning of our success and we always anchor ourselves to our care delivery framework. Together we connect, communicate, and collaborate to provide the very best care to our patients and their families.

Please join me in thanking our nursing teams for their unwavering dedication and commitment to the work they do. We have the very best nurses working here, and I wish each of them a wonderful week. May they find strength in their roots at Southern New Hampshire Health.

Sincerely,
Susan Santana
